Telescopic Christmas Card

I saw this little Christmas Card on Splitcoast Stampers and thought it was a very unique technique so I had to try it out. It's very simple, but you can bling it up and make it so much more "fancy" than a traditional folding card and it's one more way to use all of those nesting shapes you have laying around! :)

I made my card with a 5.5" Scalloped Circle as the base.  The top circle, which is stamped with CTMH Melody of Christmas stamp, lifted with 3D adhesive, on top of a Snowflake, rotates up to reveal the second circle.  I chose to put my greeting for the card on here.  This again is CTMH I Believe Stamp set.

Rotate the card one more time to reveal the last circle, which I stamped again with CTMH I Believe  stamp set for the final image.  I left enough room in the last circle for writing a personal greeting/sentiment.

Each of the circles are held together with a CTMH metalic brad.  All Cardstock is CTMH (Cocoa, Brown Bag, Garden Green & Vineyard Berry).  Background & Textured papers are My Minds Eye 6x6 Pad Lost and Found.  Images were stamped in CTMH Garden Green, Garnet and/Vineyard Berry Ink.

Mojo Monday Layout 213

Since it's the last week of the month, Mojo Monday likes to mix things up and focus on non-traditional sized cards, so they've given everyone a Round or Square option.

I chose to do the square option with a "twist". Here's my card:

So here's the "twist" this card is technically a 6"x6" square card. . . well sort of, anyways.  I made it an easle card which in itself is a fun take on the traditional flat card as you can see by this picture:

It sorta pops up in all different kind of ways.  It's a very cool way to do a "square" card layout!  for instructions please e-mail me and I'd be happy to forward them on or you can check out the Score-Pal web site projects for this or plenty more ideas for different card layouts.

Christmas is in the AIR!

With Halloween officially over and Christmas only 54 sleeps away. . . (yupppers . . . is the anxiety and panick of what to get everyone for the Big DAY starting to kick in?), I figured it'd be safe to post some of the Cards Amber Nustad and I have been putting together for our gathering at the Contact Women's Society Evening Card Making Classes. Firstly, let me just say a BIG thanks to Amber for helping me PLAY and organize the projects for this event. It has been a blast so far getting creative with her and playing with our "toys"!!

This is one of six cards we will be making at the WCS evening gathering scheduled on November 22nd.

We LOVED this little tea cup and the use of the CTMH Acrylic Stamps made it so easy to use the 2 piece stamp set and a little "rock and roll" technique. Add a little bling (no girl can resist bling!) and vola! You instantly have one card done and five to go. . . keep posted for the next card in the set of six!  :)

Splitcoast Stampers - Recognition!

Wow, In the General Stamping Talk forum of Splitcoast Stampers , I was recognized in the FAVORITES for the week ending October 30, 2011. See post #44. for the Wicked Halloween layout I did for Mojo212! Awesome!  Who woulda thought!  :)

Wheewww. . . where is the time going?

Okay, this weekends project was all about my new scrapbooking room!  YES I'm getting all my stuff (eventually) organized!   I am officially converting our addition to my own personal space for crafts.  Sunday was all about sanding drywall and priming the walls/roof for paint.  I'm hoping by next weekend I can get the last of the paint on, lights and heater installed, and start to set up. . . YIPEEE!  This will mean I will have a 14'X20' room primarily for crafting.  I'm so excited to be able to "find" all my toys that are packed away in boxes/storage.   As my husband Lorne reminds me so often. . . you've taken over the house with all your craft stuff.  Is there not a room you don't have it in?   Well. . . soon enough I will be organized and very busy gettin' creative this winter!   Yipeee!

I will be putting an order in this weekend, November 6, 2011, if you have anything you need to help out with making your Christmas Cards.  It'll be a great opportunity to get your Holiday Wish Stamp set for $5 with a minimum $25 purchase D size stamp purchase.   To place an order please contact me, Penny Stavast .

Don't forget on November 22 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the Contact Women's Society is the Christmas Card Making Class.  This Class is FREE - all paper products will be provided for 6 cards using the Winter Wonderland Paper Pack.  It's a great opportunity to finish up some of your personal card stash and to get together with a great bunch of ladies for an evening of fun!  Please register with Ashley at (250) 392-4188.  Class is limited to 18 participants - so don't wait it's filling up fast!
