Cruisin' . . . over the Hill

I am really enjoying this past release of CTMH paper packs!  One of my favorites is the CTMH Cruisin Papers!  This card is based on a Sketch Saturday's from a couple of weeks ago, but hey, life's been busy. . . notice a theme happening?

I rotated the sketch and here's what I came up with:

Isn't this image just the cutest. . . I have a couple of biker "dudes" in the family, so I'm sure I'll be able to use this card to help them celebrate an upcoming b-day!

Inside Sentiment "Where? When? I don't remmeber any hill . . .  Happy Birthday".

Papers:  CTMH "Cruisin" Paper Pack
Stamps:  Whimsey Stamps "Biker Girl" & CTMH "Birthday Greetings"
Ink:  Tuxedo Black, CTMH Cranberry
Accessories:  Spell Binders Die Cuts, Felt Swirls & Copic Markers

H2H Scrapbooking Challenge

Over at Heart 2 Heart, design team member Cheryl, has created a great two page spread for this months challenge.  Be sure to go to Heart 2 Heart to check out Cheryl's creative example.

It features six 4" x 6" prints (one with a little bit cut off on the side), and two 3" x 3" prints. The darker paper strips are 3" x 9", and the lighter ones are 3" x 12". The circle is 6.5", and the photos have 1/4" mats. Either side of the sketch would make a fine single page layout; just add a title to the left hand page. You can replace the stars with whatever elements work for your pictures. Don't forget to link your finished page back at H2H so they can see what you did with the sketch.

The rules are pretty simple for this Challenge:
  • In order to enter a challenge, you must use CTMH products but your project does not have to be 100% CTMH.
  • If you use something from another company, please consider including details in your project's description.
  • You MUST mention H2H challenges in your blog post and a link back to us would be appreciated.
  • Spread the word about our challenge blog by including our badge on your blog.
  • Most importantly, have fun creating - the Close To My Heart way!
Good Luck and I can't wait to see what you scrappy gals can come up with!

I'm not only an Auntie. . . but a "Great" Auntie!!!

Ok, life has been busy!  Some of you may know and other's may not even care!   But a week ago today I became a great aunt to my nephew's little boy! I know so hard to believe that I could be a "Great" Aunt. . . but it is officially my "Title" now and I'm gonna milk it for everything it's worth!

To honour our newest little member and my nephew, I had fun creating a "welcoming" card.  I used deconstructingjen.com's sketch #45:
and here's my creation:
Inside sentiment "Congratulations DAD!"

Ooops. . . sorry!

Okay, firstly I have to appologize 'cause I just can't seem to get on-line to update my blog these days and I have been crafty - but the issue seems to be somewhere between the craft room and the computer it just all falls apart!  My last post was in FEBRUARY!  OMG - that is so BAD.  Where has the time gone?   Two weeks of that I was away for holidays - which I thoroughly enjoyed.  But that does not account for the other month??!!

Anyways. . . I have been busy making cards and doing challenges - but they are no good for the challenges if you don't post them.  So, today is about posting for a challenge. . . Graphicats!  I'm barely making it under the time line - this Challenge ends on Sunday!

Here's Cheri's Sketch:
and here's my take on it:

BandT Papers:  Authentique 6x6 Gathering Bundle
Cardstock:  is all CTMH - Juniper, Cocoa and White Daisy
Stamps:  Art Impression - Friends "Out for Lunch"

TFL!

I will try and get some of my creations on here in a more timely fashion this week - but can't make any promises!  Have a great weekend - I'm going to try to reconnect with another one of my passions, which I haven't done for a few years, for some inspiration in the arena. . . and maybe I will actually even get on one of my horses sooner - rather than later!

Graphicat's Sketch - Dream

Over at Graphicat Creations they've relaunched their Sketch Blog - yipeee! I so like the sketches Cheri and her team come up with and this week's launch sketch is wonderful . . . the hard part is I couldn't figure out which sentiment/stamp combo to put together.  Here's the first sketch:

I rotated the layout counter-clockwise and this is my take on it:
This card was sooooo out of my comfort zone!  All those pastel colors, but it is a fairy and I tried my best to make it all magical.

Extended B-Day Celebration. . .Giveaway!!!

This is a card I made for a good friend for her B-day, which I knew I wasn't going to see her on the special day, so the sentiment was the inspiration for this card!   I've had the photo images stored on my memory card for a while, but held off posting until I actually gave the card to her!  So now I get to share it with everyone else. . .  =)

The layout is an older one from Sketch Saturday Layouts. . . it's always good to have a good stash of layouts laying around!  It's actually one I've wanted to play with for awhile.   Upon closer inspection. . the B-day Girls couldn't get over the "layers" on this card!

Can you guess how many?  Leave a comment and the lucky person who guesses correctly will get a free CTMH B-Day Celebration Stamp Set!   Winner will be randomly selected from all correct guesses and MUST reside in Canada!

. . . and here's the inside of the card.  It's this a great sentiment for those that "miss" that special date?

SS-192 You're Amazing

I've been so caught up in making Valentines Day cards, I figured it was time to get into another color other than Red, Pink, White and Black! Today I paired up some non-traditional colors: Blue, Brown, Colonial White, and GreyWool - with a splash of Yellow thrown in for some variety!

My sketch comes from Sketch Saturday and I rotated the image clockwise once.  Here's their sketch
and here's what I came up with:

This is another Simply Betty Stamp which I got from Graphicats Stamps from this past weekend Copic and Crop classes.  I thought I was going to have a hard time making up the "elongated diamond" for this sketch but I was able to utilize my CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge and used the "Card" setting for the triangle and nested it quite nicely to create the frame from Ariel as well as the "tickets"!

All the goods which made up this card:

Stamps: Simply Betty Sunflower Ariel and CTMH C1464 Blue Ribbon
B and T Papers: Authentique 6X6 Journey

All Cardstock is CTMH: Cocoa, Grey Wool, Sky and Colonial White
Ink:  Momentos Tuxedo Black, CTMH Cocoa and CTMH SkyEmbelishments: Flowers, Prima Crystals, CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge, Copics, Liquid Glass and CTMH Licorice Gems.

SC369 - Young Love

Last weekend, Amber and I attended Graphic Cats Designs Copic Club and Crop.  It was great fun. . . and there was a great group of ladies there throughout the weekend!

I've discovered my limited supply of Copic Markers is definately NOT enough to sustain me. . . the world is a rainbow and for every color there is a copic marker - and I pretty much have to have it!   Yes I am addicted and Cheri over at Graphic Cats Design is somewhat responsible!  LOL

Anyways. . . my therapy is definately retail and along with many Copic Markers, I also was able to pick up some really. . .really cute stamp sets and put all of the information from my Copic Class to good work.

Here's the sketch I used for my Young Love card:
and here's what I was able to make on the weekend (I know I'm a little slow in uploading my stuff - life kinda gets going and you run out of time):

Aren't they just the cutest!  I REALLY LOVE this image set. . . so much so I had to buy several stamps by the same artist! I did mention retail therapy didn't I. . . and Graphic Cats Design was definately able to supply!  Thanks Cheri ;-)

Bearly Havin' Fun

Over at Heart2Heart's blog last week they had a challenge to use the colors Amethyst and Twilight.  As well, Creative Accents Seriously Creative Challenge for January is for a theme "Let it Snow".

I was able to meet both thee challenges criteria (yippeee savin' time on the card making!).  The great thing about CTMH is their paperpacks and the CTMH Winter Wonderland papers were perfect for this color challenge and snow theme.  I also had an older, now retired stamp set, which I hadn't used before and knew I could pear up easily with the color pallet of the papers.   Here's my card:

The card base was made with CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge. . . I'm not really sure how I survived without this great tool before it's release in the fall!  And here's a close up of these cute little bears from CTMH "Chillin" Acrylic Stamp set:

Aren't they just the cutest little guys?

The great thing about this card. . . is it is almost all CTMH product!
Here's the Recipe:
Papers:  CTMH Winterwonderland Papers
Stamps:  CTMH Acrylic Stamp Chillin
Embelishments:  CTMH Pearls, Jelly Roll Glitter Pen, CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge and Copic Markers

TFL. . . and now onto this weeks Photo Inspired Heart2Heart Challenge!  Check it out and maybe you too will be inspired to create something new and exciting from your stash!
So life has been a little busy, hence the long time between posts. Anyways, my girls were using some gentle persuasion (begging) this weekend to make some cards. So I decided to sit down and make the easel card that I had challenged my self to make, a long time ago.

It started with this cute fairy stamp that my little boy got me for Christmas from Graphicat . I colored her with Copic Markers and gave her a bit of Sparkle with CTMH Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel. Oh and the red bell is also from Graphicat .

SOOOOO FUUNN!!!!

So here is my card. Not sure if it all works together but I like it. Didn't use a layout, just let the paper guide me.

Here is the inside.

Product used were:

CTMH Roxie Paper Pack
Whimsy Stamps Silver Fairy
CTMH Wonderland Workshop On The Go Stamp set
CTMH Roxie Workshop On The Go Stamp set
Graphicat embellishments, Bell and Coffee mug and beans
Copic Markers
CTMH Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel
CTMH Ink in Cocoa and Chocolate
CTMH Black Marker

Happy Paper Crafting......

Until Next Time!

Heart 2 Heart

I used last weeks Viva La Verve layout for a cute little "hope your feeling better" card:

. . . and here's my card!  I found this cute little Dr. image over at La-La Land Crafts.  She is actually a "digi" image.  I wasn't too sure on how to use a "digi", but I've entered into a whole new world of cardmaking. . . and I think I LIKE IT!  Be sure to check out all the images over at La-La Land Crafts - there is literally something for every occasion!

Hooked on Love

I saw this cute little moose someone used over on Splitcoast Stampers Gallery earlier this week and knew I just had to have him for a Valentines Day Card for my husband!  How do you make all those traditional Reds and Pinks into a masculine Valentines Day Card - especially for a "Red Neck" Fisherman?  You Just do it and tell him to tough it up!  LOL!

My inspiration for my layout came from a new to me sketch from Sketch Satruday, and here's this weeks challenge layout (. . .and I'm just making it under the wire cause it's due today!):

. . . And here's my take on this layout:

Isn't this little guy just the greatest! He's actually a digi image from Mel Jen's Designs and his name is "Fisher Moose".  However, I replaced the image of the fish with a heart.  I also replaced the wording on the sentiment from "Hooked on Fishing" to "Hooked on Love" by masking my stamp and replacing the word with another stamp image.  Here's a close-up of my Fisher Moose:
The recipe for all the goods that made up this card:

BandT Papers:  BoBunny 6X6 "Crazy Love Collection"
Cardstock is all CTMH: Chocolate, Desert Sand & Tulip
Digi Image:  MelJen's "Fisher Moose"
Stamps:  CTMH D1325 Camping Fever, CTMH C1405 In Month April
Embelishments:  Spellbinders Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Border Punch, CTMH Chocolate Ribbon, Copic Markers, Crystal Heart Gems, and CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge.

There will be a whole new layout posted tomorrow on Sketch Saturday's Challenge Blog. . . why don't you play along!  :)

Jan 19, 2012

awwww. . . shucks!

I love this sweet and innocent little girl and thought she'd make a wonderful valentines image for the Stamping Bellarific Friday Challenge. However, the sentiment which came with her I changed it up slightly and added the "Be Mine" instead.

Here's the Layout from Bellarific Friday Challange:
. . . and here's my take on their layout:

Here's the recipe for putting it all together:
BandT Paper:  Bo Bunn 6x6 "Crazy Love Collection"
Cardstock is all CTMH:  Tulip, Baby Pink and Chocolate
Stamps:  Stamping Bella & CTMH Sentinments
Embelishments:  Spellbinders Nestabilities, Crystal Gems, CTMH Organdy Ribbon, CTMH Chocolate Buckle, MM Heart Shimmer Brads, Copic Markers & CTMH Art Philosophy Cartridge.

TFL. . . next card is going to be a challenge!  Making a Valentines Card for the guy!  Keep posted to see how I make out with all those traditional Valentines Colors of red & pink and still keep it masculine!  :)

This weeks MOJO Challenge is a super neat little grouping of fun images!  I pulled out some older stamps I had from a couple of years ago, but haven't used much and thought I'd create this weeks layout with Mo Mannings "Oh the Places You'll Go" set.  Just so happens this is also my entry for the BELLARIFFIC0212 week 2 Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers

Here's the layout for Mojo224:

. . . and here's my finished card:
Isn't she just the cutest little bug you've seen?! I so LOVE this image it's so sweet and innocent.

Here's the recipe for this card:

MOJO 223 - Make it Count

This weeks MOJO Challenge was perfect for CTMH Sonoma Papers.  I was hoping to create a vintage time peace card and I think with all the stamps and embelishments, I did okay with this piece!  After I created this card I discovered over at H2H (Heart2Heart) blog they too had a challenge for CTMH products to use a stamp you haven't used before from your collection or to dust off an old set you haven't used for awhile.

Here's the original MOJO223 Layout:

I kept my card in the same layout, however I did use a 6x6 card for my base and here's my card:
Here's all the details of what I used to make up this card:

Papers:  CTMH Sonoma Paper Pack (X7143B)
Ink:  all CTMH - Cocoa & Smokey Plum
Stamps:  all CTMH - Vintage Father's Day (C1239 - Retired), Make it Count (D1257) and Key Moments (B1392)
Embelishments:  CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge, CTMH Antiqued Copper Mini Medley, CTMH Cocoa Ribbon, CTMH Photo Hangers, 7 Gypsies Key & Pearl Brads.
